Run to Bombs

bomb

Terror doesn’t define
It outlines
The way we behave and respond
It pushes us toward smoke
Through the ash

We run to bombs
Hiding in its after blast
Crawling through the smoke and haze
To stick bony fingers
In the face of our enemies

The tears and pain
Bitter reminders that we run
To comfort those who are alone
The destroyed lives
Anguishing in the street

Blood soaked articles of clothing
Wrapped around the gaping wounds
That speak in confusing voices of the insane

We run to bombs
To place humanity back into the equation
We run to bombs
As to not delay the healing

Aging Fading

aging fading

We are born into such a dazzling and brilliant light

A luminous glow that fades as we age

Like a glass vase called hope

That falls off the shelf

Smashing into a thousand pieces

Life exists in nano-seconds

In a free fall

Further from our birth
